About - Prof. Dr. Prabhu Prasadini

Dr Prabhu Prasadini is graduate from ANGRAU  obtained Doctorate degree in Agricultural Physics from IARI, New Delhi with ICAR Senior fellowship.  Did Post Doctoral advanced training and research for one year in Environmental Science in Italian laboratories with fellowship of International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP).


She has thirty seven years of experience in research and teaching in the field of Agricultural Physics , Soil Science and Environmental sciences. She had handled 12 research projects funded/jointly by International, Govt. Of India, State bodies and Industries. She has authored/co-authored 51 research papers, 24books/review/ bulletins, 12 popular articles. Involved in preparation of soil inventory including soil water retention and storage capacity, other physical and chemical properties through survey and soil profile studies for united A.P.  Significantly contributed to the dignity of rainfed farmer through alleviation of soil physical constraints for crop production.


Prof. Prabhu Prasadini had experience in teaching UG and PG students in Soil Science and Environmental Science. Developed the course curriculum for PG programme on Environmental Science. Instrumental in implementation of new interfaculty programme on Environmental Science in ANGRAU. Contributions in the area of industrial effluents’ and solid wastes’ utilization in agriculture are commendable. She was in forefront in highlighting role of women in Agriculture/farming and Biodiversity conservation.


She visited Italy, Turkey, Israel, Egypt and USA for delivering lectures/presentation of papers/updation of knowledge. She is recognized at international level and was invited to Universities abroad for presentation of papers in International Food and Nutrition conference and Lectures on Alternate Nutrient Sources for organic agriculture. She has presented paper on utilization of urban waste compost in agriculture in International Conference on Agriculture & Forestry in Manila and bagged two medals for best paper presented in the Conference. Her international exposure lead to the assignment of Director (International Programmes), ANGRAU. With her contacts in foreign universities she could brought in the Student Exposure Programmes in different countries in the University.


She was a Member in several committees viz., Animal ethics committee, Standing Committee member in MoEF-GTZ (Switzerland) project on ‘Natural Resources and Environmental Accounting for the State of Andhra Pradesh’,   Stake holder Committee Member in the ‘Development of Noor Mohd Kunta Katedan Cleaning Project’ of World bank aided - APPCB –Netherlands Project. At  ICAR level she was an ASRB assessment committee member, expert for ARS paper setting at national, Environmental Science PG entrance exam at state and other states. She is honored with several awards/recognitions at national, state and University level (Meritorious Teacher of the University 2005).
