MNR Sanjeevani College of Physiotherapy was established in 1999. It is one of the first few colleges to offer a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) course in Telangana State. The Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) program was commenced in May 2006. With the rich experience gained so far, The MNR University wishes to start UG and PG programmes from the AY 2022-23.


The college has departments namely Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, General Medicine, General Surgery, and Orthopaedics. The experienced faculty provides guidance and additional training sessions for students. Students expand their horizons of therapeutic and rehabilitation concepts through community-based rehabilitation programs and other "outreach" activities sponsored by the Govt. of India and other international agencies.


Innovative and current practices of teaching methodology are employed in the teaching of students. Apart from lectures by the faculty and guest lectures by eminent personalities, workshops are conducted to facilitate the students to gain the best possible knowledge and simultaneously develop their personalities.

Students receive training in manufacturing various aids and implements such as callipers, and artificial limbs, etc. at a well-equipped Orthotic & Prosthetic unit.


Special Initiatives

‘Student mentoring program’ for first year students is used to benefit them by providing individual attention and counselling. Special care is also taken of those students who are lagging. Guidance is provided to the students regarding higher studies and opportunities abroad like the USA, UK, Australia, etc. Special seminars are arranged for students to enable them to prepare well for exams like TOEFL and GRE.


Infrastructure & Facilities

Practical training is imparted to students in MNR teaching Hospitals located within the campus. Additionally, students are posted in Gandhi Hospital and other reputed institutions in Hyderabad, Telangana State to enable them to learn more and have exposure.


The institution has excellent infrastructure facilities, spacious lecture halls with good lighting, ventilation, and well-equipped audio-visual aids, spacious (8000 sq. ft.) central library with access to over 10,000 books and 100 Indian and foreign journals, textbooks, and reference books dedicated to Physiotherapy are available on the campus. A media center attached to the central library has internet, reprography, and fax facilities among others.


There are two separate labs in the college, one for Kinesio therapeutics (Exercise Therapy) and Electro-Therapy. These labs have all physiotherapy equipment essential for demonstration and practice by students. A fully functional Physiotherapy Department present in the attached MNR Hospital provides both outpatient and inpatient physiotherapy services. It has all facilities including - Ultrasound therapy, SWD, TENS, IFT, Hydro-collator packs, Paraffin wax therapy, Traction, Exercise bicycle, Treadmill, Portable sports PT equipment, Massage, Manual therapy, etc.

Employment Opportunities for Physiotherapy Graduates and Post Graduates

Physiotherapy graduates (BPT) and Post graduates (MPT) have many career opportunities in various sectors with attractive salaries. There is a great and rising demand for physiotherapists with all kinds of patients, including those recovering from surgery and accidents and those suffering from chronic diseases like arthritis, needing their services. They can work as Consultant Physiotherapist in Multi-specialty Hospitals, Health Care Centres, NGOs, Corporate Physiotherapist in MNCs (Soft-ware companies etc.), and Health Care Physiotherapy Instructor in Modern Gymnasiums. There are vast openings for Physiotherapists in different countries of the world such as USA, Canada, UK, UAE, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Germany. Physiotherapists interested in teaching can also work in physiotherapy colleges and universities as lecturers, professors and clinical researchers to train next batch of young physical therapists. They have opportunities as Sports Physiotherapists along with Sports Associations, Sports Team (cricket, Tennis etc.), also hired individually physiotherapists by elite athletes. Defence sectors like the military, navy, airforce, coast guard and border security force employ physiotherapists for various roles. Other specialisations include occupational therapy, speech therapy, sports therapy and orthopaedic therapy. Physiotherapists can also have their own private clinics treating people for their ailments and also offering specialised services for seniors and children., Physiotherapists also work in rehabilitation centres and help in improving the physical functionalities of patients by prescribing them exercises to improve posture, movement and coordination focussing on both the physical and mental wellbeing of the needy people. Physiotherapists are also eligible and many have got placements in various Government departments by getting selected in Group Services, Civil Services exams etc. Opportunities in hospital administration, medical coding, and Health insurance sector are also plenty. The University’s Placement Cell will strive hard to facilitate placements and avenues for higher studies for the graduates as per their aspirations.
